I've been reading/researching and man I had no idea how crucial regularly serving the engine was to the life of vehicles.

On a 2007, what service records should I be looking for, specific to the carfax and /or service receipts?
Some last 10,000 miles and some last forever it just varies. The 5.4 3V is a damn stout motor but maintenance is crucial to them.
I havnt done a carfax report in a long time because it's so expensive now. I'm not sure what all they tell you nowadays.
if you do go look at it and drive it, if it sounds like a diesel at idle that's the cam phasers. That doesn't necessarily mean they have failed but it does indicate wear on the phasers. The louder they are, the more worn they are. Imo, a light phaser knock (mine has it) is nothing to worry about. But if you can hear it in the cab with the windows up then they probably need replaced. I'm not trying to scare you away from this truck I just want you to know what you are getting into
it looks like the same color as mine from the pic. Dark stone metallic

Wow. I thank you for that information about the phasers. That was so insightful.
Yea we just pulled the carfax and there was some minor damage reported in 2017. Apparently the original owner hit a parked car No airbags deployed according to the report. The carfax shows damage to the middle front. (I've attached the screen shot)
The original owner was very diligent about regular scheduled services and attended them through the Ford Dealer in their area. The current owner has only had it for a year and needs to get out of the car payments due to rising health care costs. There is no service reported for the last 12 months but I suspect (I worked with the guy) that he was probably doing his own oil changes etc.

Other than that Seems like a solid vehicle for a great price. Your truck looks identical Lol

To the forum and Darrin: Would the accident reported be a deal breaker for any of you?

Thank you again for the warm welcome and information! It's been SOOOO helpful

Did the damage get repaired to where an accident is unnoticeable on the truck? If so I wouldn't think twice about it

I'm almost sure it's not detectable We will confirm that today when we look at it in depth
