Well I am looking at picking up an 06 F150 4x4 SuperCrew, 6.5' with the 5.4 L. Anyone having any thoughts on that?

It has 80000 km and I can get it with a trade in of my old 98 GMC for around $17 with taxes.

Welcome to the site. I thought the Supercrew only came with a 5.5' box? Seems like a reasonable price.

 

I did the Carfax report and it came from a leasing company in Manitoba. With only 80 km's on it I am thinking it isn't a bad deal. Thing is mint inside and most of the exterior is spotless with the exception of the tailgate which has a few scratches and 3 small dents.

I believe they started making the 6.5ft box in 06 as an option on the super crew. I probably would have never considered buying a ford but with a baby on the way I need the ability to fit a car seat or two in the back and still have a usable bed. The ride on the truck is exceptional.

Anyone have any advice for things to look out for with these trucks?

You'll be safe with the Ford.

See if they changed the plugs, they have a problem with them stripping out.
