Default Help with MPG problem

I have a 2016 2.7L SuperCab 4X4 with less than 14,000 miles.

I was getting ~24 MPG on the highway.

I took it in to the dealer for the first oil change in Sept 2017 and since then I can't get over 17 MPG on the highway.

I called the dealer today and was told that lower MPG was due to the annual change to the winter gas.

This answer does not seem right to me for such a huge change. Any advise?

Can’t quite answer but the winter fuel definitely knocks 2-3 mpg off my 5.0 and the newer 3.5 I’m seeing at least 2 mpg decrease. If your driving highway only you would likely see several MPG less if winter fuel is the issue. Can’t see how an oil change would affect mileage otherwise. Also, check tire pressure.

Hi, check your oil level. I have seen where too much oil was added and even where the old oil was not drained and the new oil added anyway. This could cause too much friction against the crankshaft counter weights. This will cause lack of power and rough running.

Not related to the oil change or gas but, could the 4wd hubs be engaged? What is the best way to confirm the hubs have disengaged?
