Hello from Washington State
Just bought my 2013 F150 XLT truck about 2 weeks ago. I definitely found this forum useful in the months leading up to my purchase (and still do!) so I went ahead and registered. This is my third Ford truck but my first F150.
My previous Ford Rangers had served me well ('93 w/ 217k and '08 w/ 111k) so I was a bit bummed when I learned that Ford had killed off the Ranger. I *really* liked using a manual transmission in winter/snow conditions for engine braking and I'm hoping that the Selectshift transmission will serve me the same way.
My F150 is the second truck I've purchased through the Costco auto buying program and completely recommend it. I wasn't looking for anything too complicated- supercab, 5.0 V8, XLT trim w/ the 4.2" console screen. I just didn't like the look and functionality of the 40/20/40 front bench so I was hoping to find a truck with the bucket seats.
Lucky for me, the dealership I was working through had one truck in black in their inventory and a nearby dealer had one in Blue Flame. I preferred the blue but I got a better deal for the black so now I have Black Betty.
The truck is basically stock and won't stray too far from that. I've added some window channels and a set of Husky Weatherbeater floormats.
I've also ordered a Leer 700 Tonneau cover and will also be ordering some OEM mudflaps and Rugged Liner wheel liners. So far I couldn't be happier with this truck. Comfy and a great ride!
