I just got my 2008 F150 XLT 5.4L Friday evening, so I have been running around with out a license plate for a couple of days. I'll fix that in the morning!
I am a Native Montanan and retired from Federal Service in 2014. My other rigs are a 1995 Honda Gold Wing and a 2012 Honda Pilot. Well, I guess the Pilot is my wife's car now...
I am not new to Fords: my last four government vehicles were three Explorers and an Escape Hybrid. I was actually looking for a new Gold Wing when the wife decided we needed another car for the winter. I gave my old one to my daughter who lives on the coast a few years ago, and most of the time the Gold Wing was all we needed for a second vehicle. Until we had a winter like this year's!
Anyway, I got a good deal on my XLT with 139,000 miles. It is in good shape for being over ten years old and almost 140k. The interior is almost perfect, and the outside has few dents, but a fair number of fine scratches. I plan to add daytime running lights (insurance discount for that!), new tires, running boards, and a switched 12v power outlet as the first four things. There is also a tonneau cover included but taken off that I need to bolt back on. I hope to turn that into a popup camper so I don't have to pull my motorcycle camper that I am building.
I plan to have fun seeing how much mileage I can get out of this V8

Beyond a K&N air filter and LED lights, not much. The engine already has way more power than I need, and I like good mileages...I get 33MPG on my Goldwing at 75, and mid-40's at 55, but at 55 it is hard to stay on the road because of everyone in the State passing me...{!-{P
