Hello and I'm a little wet behind the ears on Ford Products
Hello
I'm hoping to pick your brains on my purchase this week of a used F150.
Was always an import guy and chev truck guy years gone by but chev is so far behind the curve. It's Ford that shall take my business as a truck owner going forward. I have no idea. Do I BUY the 2011 XLT WITH THE 3.5l ECO and 83k or the 2012 Fx4 5L cloth interior with 103k and 4 grand more. Both crews and 6.5 box. I hope the right forum will get me a more forward answer on my purchase.

Tough to answer without seeing the options, gear ratios, condition, maintenance records, CARFAX, what you plan to do with it, etc. Before I'd even consider the XLT, I'd have to make sure it had the electronic locking rear differential. That may or may not be a big deal to you, but if you do any off-roading, or find yourself in sticky places from time to time, It's a must. The FX4 comes standard with it. I love the ecoboost myself, but the 5.0 is no slouch, and it makes some great noise!
The one thing in your post that's tough to swallow is the $4000 price difference. That would definitely sway my decision.
