Default Hello from Florida

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.

Just got a 2015 3.5L EB F150, it's my first truck, first turbo, and first Ford. I got it to use as a daily driver and tow the boat. My previous car, which I'm still keeping until I'm sure I like the truck, is a Buick Enclave. I also have a GMC Savanna van which I use for projects, I don't think I'll use the Ford for anything dirty it's too pretty. I guess I could've kept towing the boat with the van, but for a while now I felt like driving something more substantial than a crossover. I like to sit high and have good visibility, get in and out of the car without bending and squatting, drive over a curb sometimes without grinding the undercarriage, and have power at my disposal when I need it.

I don't have much experience with trucks but I knew the big players are Dodge Ram, Chevy Silverado and Ford F series. I kinda assumed that after this long in the game they would all be comparable in capability, features and price. What made me go for the Ford is something about the styling, it's instantly recognizable and just appeals to me. I think Ford is ahead of the others in the looks department, but I understand that's also a matter of personal taste. A friend of mine has a 2.7 XLT and let me drive it, I was impressed with the acceleration for a vehicle this size. He assured me that his truck was reasonable on gas which is important to me.

So I pulled the trigger and here I am. I like the fact that this is a vehicle that will readily accept a personal touch. I don't plan on doing heavy modding (wish it looked like a Raptor though) maybe a little lift, wheels, some reasonable performance enhancements if available and cosmetic touches. I'm looking forward to learning from your experience.

My first questions to you. This skirt under the front bumper, is it essential? If not essential do you think the truck will look better without it? Like I said sometimes I'll drive over a curb and don't want it rubbing or tearing off. Also it doesn't allow me to take a quick look under the truck from the front.

What is this attachment point in the truck bed for? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you join. The air dam in the front can be removed or even cut down if you don't like it. The tie down point (one in each corner) is just there to be attached to and help secure any cargo or other things you are hauling in the back of your truck. Nice looking truck, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
