Dropping in to introduce. I just got a 1997 F150 XL on the road. It was given to me by a buddy at work when the dreaded 4.2L intake gasket took out the motor. At right at 100,000 miles the body, paint and interior are just about perfect. I bought another '97 that had a new crate motor put in it when it experienced the same issue back in 2008. The truck was then driven off into the woods and smashed, crushed or at least dented every body panel on it. Swapped the motor and tranny last weekend and junked the body of the 2nd truck and now I have a 100,000 mile body, 40,000 mile motor for a total of about $700.00.
