Hello everyone!
Hi guys. Just joined. Im a longtime Ford fan, and now im lucky enough to work for them. Ive never been much about posting on Forums, but as i gain experience it makes me happy i can share that with the DIY guys, which i was for a long time. The final reason i had to join, was i just got official confirmation from the Master Techs who just attended Powertain Training, straight from Detroit, that THE 7.0 IS 100% CONFIRMED!!!! They didnt say much, but what they did say, is HUGE. 1- it WILL be in the Raptor, as an optional upgrade, and possibly high trim regular F150s. 2- it WILL be in the Mustang, but NOT the GT500. They said "we're going to put the Hellcat/Demon in its place" im thinking Boss 429, but thats just my guess, no title confirmed. 3- it will replace the 6.2 and 6.8 in Super Dutys, but we mostly knew that.
The important part is, if they put it in even 1 Mustang, the performance world will support it. The 6.2 got slighted in that dept.
It sounds like we will see 2 versions. The Mustang and Raptor versions will likely be related, and then the superduty/regular 150 will be "detuned". Im hoping we see SOHC and DOHC, but thats still up in the air.
To the naysayers, who are probably just upset EcoRaptor owners, sorry, but its real! The techs who confirmed it hadnt believed a word i said about it until Ma Ford told them. Came back and said "i cant believe this is true, but you were right. The 7.0 is happening" i literally jumped for joy. Apparently Ford proved to the govt that a bigger motor gets better mileage in a bigger truck. Power/weight ratio and low end torque. So the big block gets at least one last hoorah before the commies make us sell all hybrids and electrics. They can sell all they want. Im a V8 till i die kinda dude
Now im just counting the days....
