Default Hello Everyone,

Hoping all had a good holiday season. I am new to the forum and first time poster. My name is Austin and reside in West Valley, UT. I own a 1993 F150 4X4, ext. cab with 5.0 and manual trans. I had an interesting experience a couple days ago. I was out driving the truck and stopped at a light. When I went to pull away, the rear end locked up. I rocked it a couple times (gently), and was able to get it to move. I was a block from home so I decided to limp it. I took off the plate to investigate and found that the cross pin bolt had unscrewed itself and was laying on the bottom, this caused the cross pin to back out and was hitting the pinion gear. Unfortunately, the end of the cross pin was damaged so I had to order a new one, no gears appear to be damaged. Sorry this is more rambling than an introduction. I was just surprised because the differential gave no warning. There was no bang, no grinding, nothing. Just wouldn't move. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem.
