Default Hello from England!

Hi guys! So this is two firsts for me, first time owning a Ford and first time owning a Pick up. Mine is a 1989 4.9L Single Cab with an 8' bed. I picked her up as a non runner - all that it actually needed in the end was a TPS and an ECU, nice easy fix .

Then the trouble began...Failed the MOT on the front brakes binding - no sweat, order new calipers, discs, bearings, pads - complete kit to rip it all off and give it a lovely new lease of life. All back together, second attempt at the MOT and it being all legal...

Cruising well things started to get really very hot! Ditched into the nearest layby and killed the ignition. Popped the bonnet to fluid bubbling out the side of the head gasket. That'd be dead then! Loaded it onto my trailer and towed it back. Stripped it down, replaced the head gasket, two bent push rods, stem seals that were more bakelite than rubber, gave everything a good clean and am in the progress of bolting it back together. It going was a god send in disguise as it has meant it can get a proper treatment while going back together, including fixing all of the 'work' completed by a garage for the previous owner to get it running...

Anyway, enough waffling! Here are a few pictures, I'm looking forward to getting it on the road eventually, after a few bits to sort out the rogue headlights (mainly bulb holders!). But I'm off for look around the forum!
