Hello from all over
Hello all. I've had "Baby" for going on 18 years now and I'm only the second owner. She is a four wheel drive, 1982 Ford F150, with a 351 Windsor, 5.8 Liter engine.
About Baby...I got her from a couple that came down from BC, Canada; when I was living back in Wyoming. Since then she has lived in California, back to Wyoming, up to Alaska, back down to Texas and up to Washington. She's been well used and well loved. She pulled a U-haul down and up to Wyoming from CA and a dovetailed trailer with an Xterra on it up to Alaska, via Jasper National Forest and the AlCan. I built a special moving box for her bed and over cab, to move back down to Texas. Going up to WA state she only had a few things in her bed and got to run free.
I've done a lot of work to her over the years, replacing steering pumps, master cylinder, radiator recore, sensors, and on and on. Before moving back from Alaska I swapped her rear leaf springs with some F350 Dooley leaf springs; it made her look downright sexy. I've only had a shop do three things; transmission gear swap, engine rebuild, and carburetor rebuild (should have done that one myself).
She's a work in progress and has cranky bits. Right now her blinkers don't blink. They illuminate; just no blinking when switch is on, like when one of the bulbs is blown. Also the heater had been making a crazy loud noise, like a belt that needs tightened; might be time for a new one.
Just yesterday I finished giving her a brand new dress. I'll take picks and post them in another thread.
Thanks for having us.
