Hello all
I am sort of new to the forum, though I have been reading this one for a couple of months from the shadows.
I am from a tiny south eastern KY town called Paint Lick.
I CURRENTLY do not own a Ford truck, but am actively looking for a used 2017 F-150 Lariat with the 2.7 or 3.5 eco engine.
I have owned several Ford trucks over the years : 1968 F-100 step side in line 6 (gave to my brother), 1967 XLT F100 300 Inline 6 (sold), and a 1972 XLT with the 360 FE V8 dog engine and the C6 auto I inherited this one from my grandfather. Also gave this one to my brother who totaled it when he hit a large deer and went off an embankment)
Mostly drive Nissans now. I have had a 1991 Pathfinder, 1995 Pathfinder, 2000 Xterra (still have this one with 209,000 miles and running great!), 2012 Pro4-X Xterra (currently for sale), 2002 Altima and my current 2013 Altima with 142,00 on it.
So why am I here? I commute 88 miles a day to get to and from my day job. To save money I drive the 2013 Altima which gets 35 MPG average. The wife drives the 2012 Xterra 16 miles to her work. This is a 6 speed manual transmission truck and she has finally gotten tired of shifting it.
We tow a 5200 lb camper with the Xterra, but the wife wants to upgrade in the next year to something a bit larger. THAT is why I am here. The F150 seems to be the perfect truck to do this with and getting 20 something miles to the gallon means I can drive it sometimes allowing her to drive the Altima which she loves.
My day job is president of a small company that writes software and designs hardware for the asphalt and aggregate industries. I am the hardware person. I write PLC code, design back panels and do installations for the company in addition to being president.
My night job is building and refurbishing wiring harnesses for the Toyota FJ40/45 Land Cruisers. I own a 1971 FJ40 Land Cruiser and am slowly getting it back on the road. Needless to say I have little free time so you will not see me post a lot here.
