Hello all
I just joined and I am gonna have a lot of questions in the near future. But I also have a lot of answers so I hope it trades off well. As my screen name implies I own a 1989 xlt lariat that I intend to bring back to life. So I will be needing parts and guidance.
I bought this truck ( The millennium falcon) 12 years ago for $1200 and drove it for less then 6 months. In that time it siphoned $7000 out of my pocket to drive. (not counting gas or insurance) It systematically failed one part at a time until finally the rear main seal went and I gave up. but with that much invested I just had to keep it. (my neighbors just adore me)
A few years ago I was doing a motor swap for a friend and while at the junkyard found a 5.0 with 60k that looked great and was able to score it for $300 so I just had to. I dropped it in and got it running again. (lol, like it was that easy)
Now the dilemma: I have a mechanically new truck, I replaced the motor, transmission, transfer case, rearend, exhaust, radiator, heater core, gearbox, pitman arm, rear gas tank and sending unit) not necessarily in that order and not willingly or by intention. its a long story!
When I bought it it had just got new tires (35" mickey Thomsons) and rims brakes and a new suspension, a 4" body lift and of coarse a really cool pushbar.
Now I am into this thing for about $8000 after the motor swap and exhaust But its an old beat up rust bucket and needs a battery.
So thats my introduction.
So does anyone know where I can get a new drivers seat?
