Default Hello again

K guys, long time away, many changes
Now living in a travel trailer, weight 4000 lb, looking at another Effy, a 94 with a 4.9 6, 308 rear gears
Tow rating is only 4700lb, according to ford, unless i swap to 3.55, that gets me 5700lb

Is this the 'damning with faint praise' I think it might be? the 4.9 is lauded for it's low end torque and toughness, and the peak is less than 100 ft lb lower than the same truck with a 5.8
anyone think this truck would really struggle on fairly steep grades pulling a 4000lb Trailer?

Currently I have a ranger with 3.0, and it doesn't even like unsteep grades while pulling a TT
