Default Hello!

My name is of course Lester and I am a returning user!
I live in the great state of Texas !
I have an issue with my 2008 F150 4.6 Triton. My daughter has been using as he daily vehicle and occasionally when you go to start and turn the key it clicks like you have a dead battery; However, if you turn the key off then back on it will start then when you put it in drive it takes off fine in first gear but when it shifts to second you lose speed, rpms stay up and lights and guages will start to flicker and fluctuate and the parking brake light and check engine light will come on and flash/fluctuate. When you stop then start again it is normal in first gear then goes wacky when it shifts to second.
Not sure if it has anything to do with it but the transmission was rebuilt about 4 months ago and this was not an issue before that.
Any serious ideas?

Welcome to the forum. Check out the battery cables, make sure they are clean & tight. Also check behind the passenger's side kick panel that the grounds there are clean & not rusted.

Welcome.
You may want to post your issue in the ( 2004 - 2008 Ford F150 ) section of the site..
