Default Hello

Hi all, I just bought my first ford last week since I bought a new 88 escort gt that I had all kinds of problems with. I’ve always liked the looks of the trucks but just couldn’t bring myself to try another ford. But so far this one has been pretty good, I plan to do some upgrades on it in the future, it’s just like it was when it was new. Any suggestions on what should be first would be appreciated.

I had an Escort GT years ago, the turbo went out twice. The first time I spent $3k+ getting the engine rebuilt. The oil cooling lines were not sufficient to do the job, and the turbo bearings got destroyed, with lots of oil going through the engine. The second time the turbo went out I got rid of the car. I would not recommend one of these under any circumstances. That turbo was originally used in Thunderbirds.

Not sure what truck you bought last week, but a 2023 F150 has nothing in common with a 1988 Escort GT. LOL. Enjoy your truck -- and add some 411 about it in your signature.

I bought an '89 Escort GT new. It was actually a great car. One day, I told the (now ex) wife I was taking it in for new tires. Came home with a new 1992 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 5-speed! LOL.
