Hello!
Hello all!
My name is Josh, I’m 16 years old and just bought my first truck. (2010 F150 XLT (5.4) I have a few bugs and quirks but one needs my attention right away. My 4WD pops when power is applied. The sound is coming from my passenger side front Vacuum hub. I know these trucks are famous for this issue. I already had it to my mechanic because I didn’t want to deal with this myself. My truck has a new passenger side CV Axle, hub actuator, and hub. It also has a new Vacuum module on the firewall. I just got done installing the new hub myself. But it STILL POPS!!! The only thing I didn’t replace are the actual vacuum lines. But I understand that the vacuum pulls the hubs out of 4WD. The hub doesn’t make a sound in 2WD, only in 4. My dad (who has 50 years of experience with vehicles), my mechanic who is a retired Ford Tech, and myself cannot find the issue. My dad thinks it’s because my truck is leveled and the CV Axle Gears and hub gears aren’t fully meshing together. But if this were the case, my driver side would do the same. We are all lost at this point and any help or advice would be appreciated. Thx guys!!!
