I got my 1999 ford f150 xlt v8 5.4 back in June. I work 5 miles away so never took it far. Yesterday i had to take my wife to a doctor about 75-80 miles away mostly highway. We got there fine, but on the way home I get on the highway and I smell antifreeze. Thank god there was a rest area right there so I got off and checked the coolant and the overflow was empty. I bought a gal and poured it in after it cooled down. Get back on the highway not even a 1/4 mile the temp gauge is rising was able to pull over somewhat safely. I called my brother and he brought me two gal of anti freeze. As we were pouring it in we see it coming out of a hose on the passenger side toward the firewall. What can this be HELP!!! Thank You

 

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like one of the heater hoses is leaking. Can you take a picture of it & post it ?
