Default Greetings!

New to the Forum. Recently purchased a 2014 XLT Supercab 3.7L. I've owned several Rangers in the past, but this is my first 1/2 ton Ford truck. Been extremely happy with the vehicle. It has low mileage and it's very clean. I am using it as a daily driver and I'm not towing anything, so the 3.7 seemed like a perfect engine choice for me. However, after driving it for a month, I didn't seem to be getting the gas mileage that I expected. The best that I was able to achieve was about 16 around town and 19 on the highway. the engine really runs well and the transmission doesn't appear to be slipping, so I thought it might be in the gearing. The door placard has an axle code of 26, which is a 3.55 rear. There is no tag on the axle. I checked Forscan, and the BCM has a 3.73 rear axle ratio. Since the speedo is accurate, I guess I can assume that the previous owner swapped out the rear. Any thoughts on whether it's worthwhile to go back to the stock rear?

Welcome to the site! I'm no expert but I think the gas mileage difference between a 3.55 and 3.73 would be minimal, I know it is in a Mustang.
