GM convert
Just wanted to say hello! Been a long time GM owner - tahoe's, silverado's, sierra's... great vehicles! We run a series of ford transits and 550's at work, have a great relationship with the ford dealer in town, and have been happy with ford too. I love everything about my current sierra 2015 1500 denali 6.2l, EXCEPT for the chevy shake - which is noticeably bad on my ruck - maybe I'm overly sensitive, but it really drives me nuts. Dealer looked at it numerous times, I've had the driveshaft balanced, wheels and tires... just feels like im driving on square tires and bent rims.
A good buddy of mine loves my truck, is in the market, (the shake doesn't bother him at all - he is fully aware, so maybe I am crazy), and with current used truck prices gave me an offer I couldn't refuse.
I dont love the new(er) sierras, and especially hard to find a well trimmed GM with a crew cab and a 6'6 bed!
So, started investigating fords offering, and finally found one that checks all the boxes. Tomorrow I go pickup a 2020 King Ranch F150, super crew, 6'6 bed, 3.5 eco, black, tow package.
Super excited! Will post a pic when I can.
Two things I would like to do in the near future
- level the front, and upgrade the tires to a slightly more "aggressive" tire, but dont want to lose handling / ride. Need to do more research. Anyone in the northeast interested in a OE wrangler takeoffs??
- HD tow mirrors. Also need more research - sounds like getting the right mirror with all the correct options is important, ford factory mirrors are a million bucks, and aftermarket might loose some features/options.
Any thoughts on above I will gladly take advice?? If there is a want for the tires, I think I'd like to make that swap sooner than later before I put a bunch of miles on them?
Other mods will be mostly minor, just enough to make it mine. Modest exhaust and tune would be great too, its my understanding that these 3.5's have lots of potential!
Look forward to hanging with you all!
Thanks
Chad

Welcome! In regards to the mirrors, do not cheap out on aftermarket, Ive been down that road and they are NEVER as good as OEM. I bought a like new used set of tow mirrors for my Lariat on this site for a reasonable price. Just make sure you get mirrors that match the functions of your stock ones. The tow mirrors will be power extend so in order to make that function work you need to buy a new door switch that has that function, its a $60 part and is plug and play.
