Default Frozen doors

I bought a super crew ‘18 F150 Lariat three days ago and took the family skiing. Woke up yesterday and today with driver and passenger doors either frozen shut or unable to close. Overnight lows have been mid single digits F.

After warming the truck up for 20-30 minutes the locks engaged and I was able to regularly close the doors.

I’ve reviewed forums here on the issue but have a couple questions:

- based upon forums it seems like the issue has been present since 2015. How the F* is this possible? Best selling vehicle w 1 million units made annually and the doors don’t work over multiple model years?!??!?
- what’s the best fix and is it sustainable? I’m in cold climates a lot and think I may want to return the car if this will be a persistent issue

Welcome to the F-150 forum! Glad to have you join us.

Have any fun performance modifications planned for the truck?
