Have owned a 1949 F-1 a f250 71 Ranger and this is my second F 150 the first being a 1986 6 banger standard. I picked this one up way cheap its a 2004 F150 FX4 with lots of nice options. It was bought new by a ford employee..he bought a new focus and has a Mustang he bought from Ford also the tranny was leaking and it was throwing codes. he had the tranny rebuilt about a year ago but it was still leaking front and back. he changed out the crappy reject Ford drive line for a new one he changed the plugs with auto lights I am putting in the Champion brand. Anyway I changed the fuel filter and oil put new seals in front and rear and changed the transfer case and transmission fluids with MerconV and installed a new filter. The Fuel filter was Ford he said he could not remember when it was changed it was just filthy I mean looked like mud coming out put on a cheap Frahm and will replace with a wix in a couple of hundred miles. I could not believe the stuff that came out. Codes disappeared. I picked this thing up for 5 grand and have put in 500 total so I hope she runs fine..nice truck and well built. I put 10-30 oil in as the guys here in AZ says thats what they use on older Engines and it works just fine. Anyway Glad to be a part of the forum I have already seen some helpful stuff here.
