Default First Ford Truck

Back when I was a kid (college and first real job) I was a scout man. '66 800b convertible (sport top)(very rare) v266 3sp 2sp transfer case,4.28 axles locking hubs. traded it for '711/2 ScoutII large 4 196cid sp 4x4 locking hubs 2sp transfer case, 4.28 axles. Best two vehicles I ever owned. They took anything you could dish out and then some, but RUST..

I just bought a mint 2005 150 5.4 lariat from a neighbor. this may be the next best thing to a SCOUT....

I look forward to the forum.

Congrats on the truck. I really like the looks of the scouts. There is a Terra for sale locally that looks great.

Terra is the pick up version of the traveler. I know the traveler came with a 2 sp transfer case (much better) or the 1 speed (1:1 ratio). Also some came with the Nissan I6 diesel. The binders really started it all and got left in the dust by the big boys. Their own engines (not the american motors 6's) high torque, low rev made them unstoppable compared to "car" engines others used at the time.

I still have the shop manuals in case I ever see one around here, fat chance...
