First Ford ever
Good day all,
I am in the process of buying my first Ford ever in my nearly 40 years of driving. It will be (as long as everything works out) a 2017 F150 Super crew Lariat 3.5. I tow an 8,500 lb travel trailer all around the Pacific Northwest. I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around how a V6 can tow 12,200 lbs when my 2004 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 V8 was rated at 9,500 lbs. With programming and hardware I can get the options that I want even though it didn't originally come with it...Such as Hill decent, Towing mirrors, Raptor overhead console and 360 camera system.
A bit of a back story. My family and I were GM people. My family growing up only had Chevy products. My wife had a similar experience growing up. About a year and a half ago my beloved Chevy was totaled by a driver who rear ended us going about 45 mph. We had to be in Seattle the following weekend and the insurance rented us a 2017 F250 Powerstroke. My family betrayed me and fell in love with the amount of room and I must admit I liked it as well. Well we are finally about to settle the the claim. We have found an F150 in the Seattle area that we like. Hopefully within a week or so we will join the ranks of Ford owners.
Anyways this is me in a nut shell.
See ya around the PNW with or without my travel trailer.
