Default First Ford

Hello all, I'm new here and pretty much new to Ford. I am a Chevy guy from a Chevy family. No complaints about Chevy and my 12 yr old Tahoe has been a great rig for me and my family but it is time for something new. I decided I wanted something with a bed this time. I had a 2016 Silverado picked out...literally. I was supposed to go sign the paper work today. I had read about the new aluminum F150s and Ecoboosts. That didn't matter because I knew I would never buy a Ford. When I got married, my wife had a '96 mustang that may have been a lemon but that car was truly a piece of crap. Overheated all the time and 3 dealerships couldn't figure it out. I put in a lot of hours fixing that car despite the relatively low miles.
Anyway, to make a long story longer, I thought I might as well test drive a tundra and an F150. I was really surprised how much I liked the F150. I went and bought a new 2015 Platinum FX4 in tuxedo black with the 3.5 ecoboost tonight. Honestly still can't believe I did it but this truck is seriously awesome.

Welcome to the Dark Side. This truck will most likely exceed your expectations in Comfort, Ride and reliability. If you have a heavy foot, and it's hard not to with twin turbo's, don't expect to get the fuel economy numbers, but then again, no vehicle gets it's advertised numbers without a tailwind on the flattest roads,

Just got back from probably the best test drive possible. I took the family for a weekend camping trip a couple hours away. Highway travel/road trip, 3 car seats in the back, bed loaded with gear, and a little off road. The truck did not disappoint. I love it. No regrets here.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Ford - you've made the right choice. Share with us some pictures when you can. Lots of good information on here to play with. If you ever have any questions, there's definitely a great team of owners and vendors that are happy to help.

Thanks guys! I'll get some pics up soon. I've already read several threads on tonneaus and I'm starting to get that narrowed down. I'm going to get all weather mats straight away too, once I figure out what I want.
I'll definitely check out the platinum thread. So many buttons in that thing, feels like I'm in a space shuttle. I need to get all these Bell's and whistles figured out.

All it takes is a test drive! Honestly if every GM/Chevy owner test drove an F150 I'd say 85% will change their minds and take home an F150, 5% will actually like the GM better, and the other 10% bashed Ford soo much that their pride wont let them admit they were wrong lol

Glad you were in the 85%, welcome to the Family!
