First F-150 5.0
Hello from Folsom CA!
Just picked up a 2013 F-150 XLT with a 5.0L. - My last Ford was a 1981 F-100 with 6 cylinders and went 1/4 million miles without any major issues. I really liked what I have heard about the ecoboost engine, but I got a great deal on this V8 and couldn't pass it up. My only complaint is the amount of chrome but my wife thinks it's pretty. Curious if there were any issues/quirks with the 5.0 F-150 to look out for? It has 76k miles and I will probably keep it stock for the most part except for getting wheels and a leveling kit.

Quirk wise - I'll gonna say Fuse 27 because I just went through that issue. Fuse 27 is your fuel pump relay power and is known to melt down and cause a no start or intermittent engine power loss issue. There's a TSB against it and a small fix kit. If you have any wiring skill you should be able to install it yourself in under an hour. Pop the hood and open the fuse box in the center top of the engine bay. See if there's a yellow 20 amp micro fuse is in spot 27 and if there is, get the kit. Instead if you see a blue cube fuse in spot 70 like the picture below don't worry, because someone before you took care of it.
Kit if you need it will run you ~$20 depending where you shop - part number below

Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here. The 5.0 is a great engine and should give you many more miles of service.

Thanks!
Thanks for the info! I just checked and the micro fuse is still in 27. Attached is the TSB I think it is... and a link to the kit if anyone else might need it
