Exhaust question
So I'm buying an exhaust for my 03 4x4 super crew . Question is can I cut the pipe at the point where the y joins the 2 into 1 ? I would like to put a flowmaster lightning side exhaust on it cause it looks awesome and sounds great , but it's 2 in 2 out . I have access to a pipe bender and I have a welder but I am going to ask before I screw it up . The pipe was given to me by a friend, so no cost there . Pipe will run out the right side and it looks like I can do it if I cut the stock one out . There is allot of room under there where the stock one is , hell I might gain power by loosing 100 pounds of stock muffler , it's huge . Somebody please tell me good things !

O my god this sounds so good . I did it, I put a ford lightning side exhaust on my 2003 4x4 king Ranch supercrew , it looks and sounds perfect . Cut the factory y pipe and turned it into a true dual . I have allot better throttle response and acceleration now getting rid of the single in single out , it was like the thing was starving for air ( gotts mod ) . Then it sounded like it couldn't get it out . Wow I am very satisfied . Thanks for all the info this is a very awesome site .
