Default Edge Evolution - Durability

Hi everyone, I am a new to this site and like what I have seen so far.

I have a question about the use of the Edge Evolution Programmer. Provided that you are using the correct octane & program configuration, can you run your truck on a long trip (150 miles+) in performance mode or should you switch it to the towing setting?

Also, are there any reports on the long term effects on our trucks?

I have a 2005 F150 5.4 V8 with a Cold Air Intake and Cat-back exhaust.
I ordered the Evolution and am wondering about these questions before I install it.

welcome. i don't have any experience with the edge, but running the right octane on extended driving shouldn't be a problem. the negatives i've heard on the edge are possible tranny problems. as a side note, i run the superchip programmer on the wife's expedition on performance setting and 87 octane gas and no problems, as there isn't an 87 option on it.

Thanks for the input. I know the manufaturers of the performance companies will tell everyone that their products "reinvented the wheel", but it is nice to have some feedback from people who have actual experience with those products.

Welcome to the boards! As far as the Edge as long as you are using the correct octane on the correct setting you should have no problems. Also I to have heard of the transmission shudder problems associated with it.
