Default Blowing Coolant

I have a 2016 F150 Lariat Super Crew with a 2.7 ecoboost with 173,000 miles on it. The truck runs excellent except I've recently began losing coolant without any signs of leaks except for an unusual amount of moisture out the tail pipe. I've researched the issue and was told its probably a leak or crack in the exhaust manifold that's built into the head. The service writer at my local dealership said he inquired with his heavy line mechanics and they suggested with the mileage on this engine that I should replace it. He quoted me $12,500.00 for a complete new engine with turbo's, that of course doesn't include labor. My question is does anyone know of this failure, if its true does it make any sense to repair it with new heads or scrap it for all new engine and if a new engine were to be chosen can the 2nd gen 2.7 engine be installed in my 2016? Appreciate your input, thanks.
