best chip for MPG,,,???
Hello,,,I have inherited a 2000 F150 4X4 Ext Cab with the 5.4 and Auto. The trk has 180,000 carefully driven miles and was not burning any oil between oil changes. Something happened driving to town last month and engine started knocking and I stopped it fast as possible. Engine was locked up after we tried to re-start and found the two rods on third crankshaft journal almost welded to crank,,,,,,,
I Bought a 5.4 out of a wrecked 2001 with 122,000 miles from a neighbor and have almost got it all lashed up underneath. My Son had bought a set of Chrome Flowmaster headers right after he bought the trk in 2000 and they were still New in the box up in the rafters, so I went ahead and installed em and I was amazed at how well they fit and bolted right up to the original tailpipes.
I would like to improve the MPG on the trk as it would only get about 15-16 MPG. Can anybody recommend one of the better chips on the market to improve the MPG,,,????
