Barnyard Find 95F150
Howdy everyone,
looking to get some good info and tips on how to bring my recently purchased 95f150 back to life? According to the previous owner Its been sitting for 5 years so im looking for a good starting point! (Im very much new to the at home-Mechanic life but I like it!)
Any and all help is much appreciated!
PS its only got 74k original miles on it!
PPS - I just ordered the chilton and haynes manuals as well as an OBD1 reader from amazon. It currently doesnt run so im hoping I Dont have sludgy gasoline sitting in the tanks & that its just a battery issue.

Ok ,Lets hope it was running and not broken when parked.
Start with the fuel tank. Drain and clean out all the gunky horrible smelling old gas. Dispose of bad fuel in a legal fashion. Don't refill yet.
Pull the plugs. All of them-one at a time. Check and correct gap.
Check or replace air filter.
Check and correct oil level.
Check and correct coolant level.
Check transmission fluid level
Check and correct brake fluid level
Can you turn engine manually using the crank? If no....You have a problem
If yes, great.
Add fresh battery
95 is a mixed OBD2/OBD1 year. If you have a port and a scanner. Plug it in and scan for codes.
It should if you could turn it over manually.
Check for spark. If spark exists great. If OBD2 and multiple coils, check each coil. If OBD1 one plug should do.
Have some spray type starter fluid.
If you have spark, put all plugs back in. Get a helper spray starter fluid in intake and turn starter. Hopefully it will fire up properly even for a brief moment.
Lets say it does. Don't get too excited. Ok get excited and drop 2-3 gallons into the tank With Techron or similar.
Don't put it in gear once its running as you don't know if the brakes are good.
