Back in a Ford
In 1994 I bought a new Bronco, it was white like OJ's rig. Had a 302 in front of a 5 speed manual tranny and it was gutless but I loved it. Drove it for 21 years and 235,000 miles. I sold it three years ago and bought a Nissan Xterra because it has a short wheelbase and was a good utility rig for my needs. Because it had a 5,000 lb towing capacity we sold our Coleman pop up camper and bought a 19.5 foot camp trailer that weighs 3,000 lbs empty. The Xterra towed it but in a headwind and up steep hills here in Idaho it was a struggle.
Last weekend I rode in a friends F150 and fell in love with it so I went looking just for grins. Turned out that Ford has great year end deals and they gave me a decent trade in value for the Xterra so I'm now back into a beautiful red F150 short box crew cab with the 2.7L Ecoboost engine. With its 8,500 pound towing capacity and extra power I suspect it will drag my small camper around with no problem.
Love the ride and quiet cab. This is a VERY NICE RIG.
