Default Back in an EcoBoost

Just wanted to (re)introduce myself. I've been away for several years. I've just reactivated my account and I look forward to learning and sharing with you fine folks again.

I just purchased a new F150 and with this one, I'm back in the Ecoboost camp. I had been running the 5.0 Coyote for the last five years or so.

With my current ride, I've gained some features that were missing (post Covid shortages) and I've lost some others. I've gained back most of the interior features of the Lariat 502A packages, like Blue Cruise, Adaptive Cruise, and a few others, but this truck doesn't include the bed's advanced features that I did have, like auto open/close tailgate, on-board step, and bed lights. I've got lights on order from Custom Auto Works. I'd love to find a bed that includes the step and replace mine.

It seems with the 2025 models Ford has changed their previous process of using mostly the same wiring harnesses for most trims. Since purchasing this '25 I've learned that the wiring harness for bed lights is not on my truck, so I've had to go with an aftermarket alternative. And most disappointingly, I've learned they didn't include the old towing mirror wiring harnesses in the front doors. I have a left-over set of towing mirrors, but when I went to install them I found that the pigtail for extension/retraction is missing from my truck.

In the short research I've done since, it seems I may not be able to upgrade to the towing mirrors after all. I'll post a topic specific thread to seek advice and options.

Anyway, I'm back and I appreciate the learnings I'm sure to glean from you all in the future.
