Default Another new guy

Hey everyone, I'm Henry from N.C. I'm 27 and a huge ford fan. I've had 4 mustang, 2 focus...and finally bought an f150. After buying a house and having a baby, funds aren't there for anything new so I picked up a restored 88. It has the 5spd man trans and 4.9l. Bought it from an old man who bought it brand new and fixed it up last year for his grandson that ended up not wanting it. The 4.9 is rebuilt with 11k miles on it. Trans was done year before. Interior is great. Only flaw to me is that it's a no ac truck.

Welcome to the F-150 boards! Glad to have you join.

Any fun performance mods planned for the truck?

Good lookin truck, nice and clean. I ran a 93 with the 4.9 for years, then gave it to my little brother who ran it for another 6 years and piled tons of miles on it using it for his lawn business. Great engine.

honestly for now, I think my main goal would be finding parts from a donor truck or finding a kit to install ac. I wouldn't mind getting a little bit of gains out of some mods but I've been reading as much as I can and it seems like it's mostly just a very reliable engine and good for pulling with it's low end torque. I really wouldnt know what parts to start with though. Only modded newer mustangs with typical bolt ons and tunes. Before this truck my oldest vehicle was a 2004 ranger and 2005 mustang 😀
