Hello all, probably should have thought more about registering here about 6 months ago when I became a F150 owner...but it's a little hard to break old habits.
Little about myself first;
I've always been a Ford person, more-so I've always been a Panther platform fan, having my 2004 Crown Victoria LX Sport since it was new...thought I'd own that car forever...
Well fate has a funny way of working, so back in August the car met an unfortunate end with a bunch of trees after being forced off the road. The vehicle that forced me off the road? Black F150...
Being I was now out of transportation I immediately contacted the local enterprise to get a vehicle for a week. When I showed up I had the choice of two vehicles. Dodge Ram, or F150...hopefully you can see where this is going
Oddly optioned truck for a rental company. XLT Supercrew, cloth interior, no real frills inside, but it did have the Ecoboost...which was odd to me that they'd spec a truck out with the premium motor. But I wasn't complaining...
So after my time with the truck was over I used my father's explorer to get to and from work while I tried to find a replacement vehicle. Dealing with the Insurance company, Hospital visits, and the rather emotional rollercoaster of trying to find a replacement for a car that's essentially become a family member after 10 years of ownership I did decide to go to the local Ford dealership. With the past experience in the rental F150 I did consider a new one...but figured with what I wanted on it I would never be able to afford it...Especially since I fell in love with the Raptor when they first came out.
But in the end they made a offer that I literally couldn't refuse on a truck I never expected to own.
I'm the proud owner of a 2014 F150 FX4 Supercrew. 5.5 bed, Tow package, Luxury package, and even more surprising the 3.5L EcoBoost engine.
In 6 months I've already put 6800+ miles on it, towed with it, and carried stuff I never even thought I'd need in the bed...And getting stuck at the work parking lot because they don't plow is not a worry anymore with this opposed to my Crown Victoria. I've always though for what my day consists of a F150 was overkill...now that I have it...it is anything but.
Now for some pics...
And here it is hooked up to my old ride for a long trek to deliver it to it's new owner.
Yeah sucks that it happened but the truck is where I wanted my car to end up at...amazingly it's just as fast and my car was modded.
It doesn't take much to move them more...so far, I haven't tuned mine. Just added the S&B and the BBK Throttle Body. Might just be the butt dyno, but she flat out moves compared to day one...
