Almost giving up...
Hey guys I have an 1989 F-150 with the 4.9L in it and I absolutely love it. However, it has been nothing but a headache that I can't even pay a shop to fix at the moment. I got a few issues but my main one is the is my crazy misfire at 2000 RPMs after the truck has gotten warm. I've seen a few threads about this particular problem and a lot of people are saying it could be the exhaust valves not retracting all the way. My only issue with that is my motor has 150 miles... I just had it installed at a shop from ATK motors. I would have loved to do it myself like I have it the past but currently do not have the time and cannot figure this out. I am starting to think it could be something with my emissions being all screwed up but I doubt it. If someone recommends a proper delete because the way this last shop did it pisses me off. And yes I can legally delete the emissions. If someone is well versed in this truck around north Jersey I would love to see what you think. I bought this in the army and it has been an awesome truck for me ever since and I do not want to let her go.
