After 203,000 miles, finally ordered a new F-150
Hello,
I’ve been a reader on this forum for some time. I’ve visited, searched, and learned many things here over the years. I finally decided to make an introduction post now that I have ordered a new truck.
I bought my first F-150 in 2001 with 31,000 miles on it. I’ve kept it ever sense and managed to collect 203,000 total miles on the truck in the last 11 years. It’s been a great vehicle that I’ve maintained every mile along the way.
Fast forward to today and my wife’s expecting our 2nd child. The old F-150 can’t hold 2 car seats in the back so I ordered a new F-150. I looked at all the different brands and settled confidently back on a F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 5.0L. The old truck isn’t going too far; I’ll give it to my parents (still going strong at 203k miles).
I expect the new F-150 to arrive in a week and am excited to discover what’s changed over the years. I’ll post a few pictures once it arrives.

welcome to the site! and that is great you have gotten so many miles outa your old one, my family just last year sold one of our old f150s that had 270000 miles on it.It was an 88 4.9l strong truck that no matter what just kept going, only sold it cuz we never drove it anymore

welcome to the site! and that is great you have gotten so many miles outa your old one, my family just last year sold one of our old f150s that had 270000 miles on it.It was an 88 4.9l strong truck that no matter what just kept going, only sold it cuz we never drove it anymore
Wow, 270k is a lot of miles. I often wondered how long these trucks will last (on average) with care before something ends up breaking that's to expensive to fix. Over the years I've fixed small stuff on my f150, but nothing major. Thanks for sharing, it's nice to see other people who've gotten so many miles out of their truck too.
