Default adding rear lights using trailer hookup

New to this forum, glad to be aboard, hopefully I will be able to get help and give some as I go. Through the years I have accumulated some knowledge as you can see from my age, but am always trying to broaden that. (knowledge and age), excuse the humor.
Recently purchased a 2015 f-150 lariat, and I am sure this question has been asked before but could not fine answer or did not know where to look for it. I would like to put a auxiliary light between the bumper and box. I am sure you have seen these, strip of leds, right, left and brake lights. question is if I do this, I have to plug into the trailer plug-in. When I do this the computer senses I am pulling a trailer and turns off the sensors for the blind spot and also ads miles to the trailer on the dash. No biggy but if I come to sell the truck (which the last truck I bought new was a 1989 Brono 11 and I still have it.) So I may not sell it in my life time, but is there a way to get around this. I could hard wire into before the plug, but thought maybe there is a easier way.
Thanks in advance for the help.
