98 F150 brake pedal sticking
Hi I just joined the site, today after driving close to a 100 miles the cruise cut out like I had tapped the brakes. It did this three times in a 15 mile stretch. I turned the corner at home and it acted like I still had my foot on the brake. I pulled into the drive way and looked down and sure enough after applying the brakes the pedal did not return all the way up. I can hear the booster working and if I put my foot underneath I can pull the pedal up. It doesn't slowly go down if I hold pressure on it, so I'm thinking booster and mastery clynder ok. Any ideas?

You have a broken spring on the pedal or it is possible humidity has gotten into the brake fluid damaging internal parts. If you haven't changed the brake fluid in a ton of time I would expect this to happen. Look to obvious first, the moisture thing 2nd can cause a lot of grief, swelled parts and rust even inside the system. If the master cylinder is damaged, it would be the cheapest thing to replace. Your in an area where expertise is needed if you don't see the problem with a flashlight.

Update. Master cylinder is definitely a problem. With key off, brakes will pump up all the way. Turn key on and they go all way down and only come half way up. I spoke to a friend of mine who works as a tech at a ford dealership and he agreed. So when my son comes down on the weekend we will replace it and flush out all of the old brake fluid from the system.
