Are you sure the trans you used was from a 2001? Was the solenoid pack wiring with wires or the ribbon?

I believe it was ribbon, black in color about 1/4"-3/8" wide. The one on the valve body?

Yes looks just like that, the ribbon covers two shift solenoids, tcc solenoid and attachable to the back side of harness connection on passenger side of trans

OK, because if it looked like this, the wiring is different. And I have the pinouts if you need them.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but at some point, Ford changed the output shaft, but I'm thinking it was like 2004. Let me poke around in my notes, LOL. I know I've got the info somewhere.

Yes, the oss in the 5.4 is white and the 4.6 is black. I tried it with both sensors as well as dtr sensor

Here's a quote from Gears Magazine:

"A new design output speed sensor was incorporated for the 2004 model year. The new sensor [figure 15] uses the 24 extended parking pawl lugs for the exciter ring; the old sensor used the six holes machined around the ring gear (figure 16)."
