Default 1996 ford f150 302v/8 no fire to plugs

my ford turns over fine but wont hit a lick!
checked for fire at plugs, there is none.
i thought if someone had a good schematic or was able to talk me
through it, i could make it go.
my area has pretty good part changers
i figure i could do that.
thanks yade

has your inertia switch tripped? i can't remember if this shuts off the spark or the fuel.

I think the switch shuts off the fuel.
Not sure why there is no spark.

Most shop manuals - Chiltons, Haynes, etc. - have pretty good diagnostic procedures too lengthy to get into here to identify problems. Suggest to borrow, buy, or check-out (some libraries have amazing collections of shop manuals for older vehicles) a copy for your truck.

Offhand, suggest that the problem is likely with the coil, ignition module, or pickup sensor. Other possibilities include a wiring fault. Following the procedures will help to pinpoint the problem without unnecessary random parts replacements and head-scratching.

If you're into doing a lot of your own maintenance, highly recommend getting a good shop manual, a code reader, and a good-quality multimeter.
