Windshield treatments...what’s better than rain-x?
#11
Doesn't matter!
Been using Rain-X since it came out around 1975 on my 69 Skylark, my buddy had this new amazing product that they used on aircraft, it was raining out and he said: "turn on your wipers" and proceeded to spray this little yellow bottle of alcohol smelling liquid on my windshield. Have been using it ever since on every vehicle I have ever owned. It drives the wife crazy when I'm not using the windshield wipers in the rain, the best is at night without any oncoming traffic with their headlights or occasional street lights.

I highly doubt Rain-X would've have last 2 + years on it's on but like I said I maintain it with their glass cleaner which has rain repellent in it. The more expensive brands may last longer on their own (and I'm sure they) but I just can't bring myself to spend that much money on a "glass coating".

I wouldn’t know what’s better. Stuck on rain-x.
Once a year and rain just slips off the windshield. It is easy to find and is inexpensive.
I’ve noticed my wipers last longer.
Best of luck with your quest.

I've used Rain-X in the past now I just get the Rain-X windshield washer fluid. When the windshield gets where it doesn't bead as good give it a little squirt and it's good as new.

I've found the same. I live in the PNW, get a lot of rain and applying 1 coat a year (sometimes not even that) and use rain x washer fluid. I change my wiper blades every other year on average.

I’ve been using Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax on our vehicles and it seems as water-repellant on glass as it is on the paint. Seems to be about the same as using RainX.
