Thinking about using a low psi electric pressure washer for wheel wells. Anyone tried this? Does it work or would I still need a cleaner? I have rubber undercoating which has a rough texture so it's a pain to clean.

Don't use simple green, it is not ph-friendly for your rubber.

What I use:

Directions:
Spray P21s Autowash onto wheels, let sit
Scrub with brush(I have 2 or 3 brushes I use)
Spray with hose
Wipe down with microfiber
Blackfire the wheels up

Simple green is a great cleaner, but it isn't something I would recommend using a lot on rubbers and plastics. Check out the selection from detailed image, those cleaners are more PH neutral. They also make moisturizers and such to protect against UV which will keep the blacks black longer and also stop your plastics and rubbers from cracking or getting that gross white haze on them.

If you want to see what incorrect wheel cleaning does to you tires look at my build thread, someone used some ****ty tire cleaner, note how the tires are brown.

I don't really want to order online. Any decent cleaners I could get locally that's safe for plastic? What about zep orange?

After spraying the mud out from under my wheel wells and getting them reasonably clean I have had good luck with Chemical Guys Bare Bones Dark Shine Undercarriage Protectant. I just spray it on and leave it. I don't wipe it off or anything. It leaves the wheel wells looking factory fresh.

I use a foam lance with Chemical Guys Honeydew Foam. Soft bristle brush for areas that need it, mainly the rear fender wells. Front ones have some kind of carpet/fabric.

I also use a Karcher electric pressure washer. Seems to work great.
