Default Quick Detailer

How much filth is the limit some of you might recommend to remove with a quick detailer? I have some rain spots but no heavy mud or anything like that. I don't want to damage the finish at all, but I was curious is there a certain amount where a full wash would be the better choice. Thanks.

Supposedly its the finger test: If the finish looks shiny underneath where you drag your finger its OK. In other words, not dried mud.

Anytime you rub the paint surface with anything you risk micro scratching the clear coat. If you are going to use a detailer/cleaner, make sure you spray it on liberally and roll the rag on the surface, so you don't collect the dirt and scratch the surface with the rag as you pick up debris. It's not unusual for me to use 4 microfiber cloths just wiping down the Vette.

No affiliation, just products I use.
