Default Orbital Polisher

I don't know where to post this but I thought I would let yall know. This is a really good deal on a griot's polisher (44% off) not bad for a late Christmas present.

How much polishing are you planning on doing?

If you are going to be doing real polishing , not spreading around wax, and will be doing it to several cars over a years time. I would get the Griots. The HF is not bad, its heavy, from what I recall you can return it if you don't like it.

Cheers,
GREG

Greg, Would you happen to have any experience on how the Groits compares to the Porter Cable 7424XP?

Not Greg, but the grouts has more power then the pc. If you have the coin, I would buy a flex 3401. Still a da, but forced rotation

I have the Harbor Freight.

It's heavy and loud, sounds like complete garbage, but...it's HF what do you expect?
It works as advertised, no issues yet.

I've used it with an Autoscrub pad, to spread and remove wax.

IMO the griots will keep the backing plate moving much better under load then the PC 7424. I have used both machines also. I don't like the flex because it is forced roation, I much perfer DA/RO motion for more controlled results.

I would also say that the Meguiars machines are well built also and would be something to consider.

Cheers,
GREG

There a a few DA's on the market.
Harbor Freight, PC 7424xp, Griot's Garage 6"
and coming soon the Megs MT300 Dual Action Polisher.
In some situations I like the 3401 but its a nonstop DA beast.
My favorite is the Rupes Bigfoot 21 with a smooth, wide throw.

OP - The GG 6" is a great machine.
