Back in the Ford Family with my 2013 FX4 (5.0) and getting it ready for winter. Took it from the dealer NOT dealer prep 'd after seeing a kid with his 5 gal bucket about to scrub my truck down with a brush.....a wrong brush with STIFF bristles. Winter clean out of the supplies so will:

Wash with Dawn

Clay with Maguiars Clay and Optima No Rinse

Clean tires with Simple Green

Clean rims with Sonax Full Effect and brushes

Blackfire Total Polish and Seal, white pad w/DA

Colonite 845 as LSP, red pad w/DA

Wax rims w/ 845

Dress tires with CarPro PERL 1:1

Interior wipe down and dress with 303 Aerospace

Headlights and tail lights sealed with Jet Seal 109

Was smart this time and did the wife's car FIRST as to justify the time with mine. Fully realize this is a TRUCK but wanted to start it off right. Pics to follow.

I applaud you for not getting the truck dealer prepped! Looks like you know what you're doing with a DA as well.
Nice work

^ second this opinion!

Now you just have to make sure when you take it in to the dealership they don't give it a "free wash" or they will undo all the work. If you take it through a touch car wash that will also undo all your work.

Cheers,
GREG

I thought dish soap would harm the clearcoat.

Probably not good if you were to use it every wash, but it's great for your wash when prepping for paint correction ( polish/compound). It helps break down whatever may be on your paint and since you are likely following up with a sealant or polish it really isn't an issue.
