I have a Blue Jeans Lariat that goes through a full scrubby touchy soapy wash multiple times a month and the paint looks as good as new. Maybe I've just been lucky or maybe my wash house is more diligent about maintenance or has better equipment. But heck, at the end of the day, it's a freakin' pick up truck that I'm resigned to park outside in my driveway getting bird poop and who knows what dropped on it all the time. I don't want it damaged, well, at least no more than the poor build and paint quality treatment Ford used on it, but I'm not going to obsess over it either. No value judgements here about how anyone else treats their truck - just my approach to it.
