cabin filter was first. I might try what summer suggested and spray some stuff in the “HVAC” system and then seal it up after.

i bought it used, and it’s had the odor come and go since I bought it.

I picked up the odor bombs almost immediately, then shampooed the carpets a week later...

Yeah, like it or not, cabin filters are essentially an annual replacement item - i recommend the fram charcoal filter.
Did you Febreze the headliner yet?

not with febreeze but I did spray it down with fabric cleaner/deodorizer (more of a cleaner then febreeze).

I sprayed the headliner with the 50/50 simple green and water mix, used a wet sponge to wipe it down, rinse the sponge in cleaner water and repeat, over and over. Made a huge difference.

That's a general degreaser, if the smell is on the surface, that'll have a good effect. If the smell/cause has permeated the fabric, the Febreze will help considerably more.

I personally think Febreeze is useless. It mask smells, it doesn't eliminate them in my opinion.

That's literally not how it works, it's quite the opposite - of course it will stink for a couple of days until it dissipates (i used a lot)

Edit to add that i'm specifically talking about their odor eliminating stuff, i didn't realise they also have a line of smelly-*** 'scent' stuff.

In fact, i found this on their page, scent free!! I can't stand perfumes generally.

Consider the Biocide Systems Auto Shocker. Found it on Amazon.

As of today, I febreeze the ceiling quite a bit and then used an odor eliminator bomb.

last time I did it I just had the AC vents on, this time I did the floor vents and the defroster...no smells as of today
