So I’m working on making my truck shine like a Diamond, but it seems as though I can’t quite get that perfect “mirror” finish. This is as close I can get, but it looks like it could pop more. Any suggestions as to what to use to improve it? I just used chemical guys waterless detail spray.
Granted we haven’t seen the sun here in quite some days, so maybe it’ll pop more in the sun.
Maybe wash and wax it. If you are adventurous, run a clay bar over it first then do the steps to leading up to wax or ceramic.
Looks like a finish, but you seriously didn't do anything aside from spray some detailer over it.
Usually that's good to clean it up between washings -like your truck was already clean and you want to impress your friends this evening, take a few minutes with a rag and detail spray.
Thanks guys! Took it to the do it yourself car wash this morning, used the rinse and high pressure soap (no foam/soap brush), then a final rinse. Got back home, went over the truck with a microfiber towel to remove what the car wash didn’t as well as to dry it. Then yeah, just used the waterless detail spray section by section and buffed it by hand. To me, it looks like it should reflect more, but from your responses I think that might be better than I thought.
We’re in the rainy season here, and I live in an apartment complex, so claying and waxing it isn’t as easy I would like since there’s no shade or water hose access.
I didn’t have time to clean my tonneau cover or rails though, and that area between the cab and bed isn’t easy to reach down into.
Anyone have suggestions as to what to use to clean/shove my tonneau cover? It’s the Truxedo pro x15 canvas material
Did you polish it? --
If so what pad and abrasive combo did you finish with?
If you didnt, then its probably your LSP, after a wash ( waterless or not ) You need a quality LSP. I myself dont like chemical guys products. There are ENDLESS products out there that are better than anything CG's make that will do what your looking for. If you want suggestions on that just ask & I will list a few for you.
Don't clay unless you plan to polish

I did not polish it. I bought it back in September with 23,000 miles and I’m currently at 51,000 miles. I haven’t done anything except for normal car washes.
My buddy had the CG product’s andi figured I’d give them a try, but since I usually go to self serve car washes, I’m up for suggestions on what to use between washes
Well since your not going to polish it- you can apply a good sealant like Wolf Gang Si02 paint sealant or Polish Angel High Gloss-- these REALISTICALLY last for a month or so-- maybe 2 all depending on the trucks environment , wipe down after washes with something like WG ceramic booster or PA cosmic spritz. These are higher end products that I use regularly with great success.
Next step down ( but still super good ) is Rupes 808
An econimicaly good product that you can pick up @ wally world or auto zone for $10-$12 is Turtle Wax seal -n- shine ice-- looks good but doesnt last as long.
An econimical product for use as a quick detailer I like FK 425
A key to all of these is use a QUALITY MF towel ( these go for about $4-$6 each ) and frequently flip when in use- I use about 5 or six each time i work with these products
Polishing it will give you the results you want. If you can’t polish it due to time, where you live, etc, then give P&S Bead Maker a try. You’ll spray it on and wipe it off just like your detail spray after a wash, and you’ll get gloss and slickness for a week or two.
Before I ceramic coated my truck, I used bead maker after almost every wash. You’ll be impressed by the gloss.

Yep- with bead maker you will have to do it after every wash cause its longevity is absolutely PATHETIC
